Dr. Brandi K. Boan
Doctor Bio
Dr. Boan has over a decade of experience in the fields of psychology, neuropsychology, and psychiatry. She has worked for a variety of private practices and telehealth organizations. She is a consulting neuropsychologist at Amita St. Joseph Hospital and for neurologists in the Rockford, IL area.
Education
Dr. Boan completed her undergraduate education at Aurora University, double majoring in biological sciences and psychology. She has a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Benedictine University and a master’s degree in clinical psychopharmacology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She completed her doctorate education at Adler University, with specializations in Clinical Neuropsychology, Child and Adolescent Therapy, and Advanced Adlerian Therapy.
She completed her diagnostic practicum at Maryville Scott Nolan Hospital and her therapy practicum at Mental Health and Deafness Resources. She completed her neuropsychological training through Rush University. Dr. Boan completed internship training at Elgin State Hospital and her postdoctoral training through a variety of clinics and hospitals. She completed her residency in clinical psychopharmacology and prescribing psychiatric medications through Amita Health System Hospitals.
Memberships and Accomplishments
Dr. Boan is an active member of the American Psychological Association, the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology, the Illinois Psychological Association (north regional representative, selected to the 2023 leadership development program), and the Illinois Association of Prescribing Psychologists (board member).
Dr. Boan has authored several articles about healthcare and mental health. She has also given presentations and lectures worldwide related to a variety of psychiatric and neurological issues. She has also spoken about the importance of outreach and health services in rural areas. She was the second prescribing Psychologist to be licensed in the state of Illinois. Dr. Boan has been recognized as a leader in her profession.
